Based on the novel by American author Araminta Hall, the miniseries Imperfect Women turned out to be one of the pleasant surprises of 2026. Created by screenwriter Annie Weisman (The Path, Dead Like Me) and featuring a stellar cast, this diabolical thriller comprising 8 episodes apparently exceeded all expectations at Apple TV, prompting an unexpected decision to expand it into a full series and officially greenlight the production of Season 2.<\/p>\n

What was Season 1 about?<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Nancy Hennessy is murdered, leaving behind two best friends (Eleanor and Mary), a husband, a daughter, and a lover whose identity she takes to her grave. From the outside, her life appeared perfect. However, as the investigation into her death stalls, dark secrets emerge, revealing how little Eleanor and Mary truly knew their friend.<\/p>\n

What will Season 2 cover?<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Since there is no second book in the Imperfect Women series, Season 2 will be an original creation by screenwriter Annie Weisman, focusing on Eleanor’s character. She will return to her roots in the affluent African-American community of Martha’s Vineyard, only to discover that beneath its idyllic surface lie secrets that threaten to unravel everything she thought she knew about her past.<\/p>\n

Who will be in the cast?<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Eleanor will be portrayed once again by actress Kerry Washington, who shared her excitement about reprising her role in an interview with Deadline<\/span>: “We were thrilled to see how much these women and their stories resonated with audiences worldwide, and I am very excited to return as Eleanor. […] We look forward to exploring a new chapter of her story and sharing it with you.”<\/i><\/p>\n

As for other characters from Season 1, it is still unclear who will return. However, actress Elisabeth Moss, who played Mary, is not expected to return in the new episodes.<\/p>\n
