Long before making a name for himself in “The Walking Dead,” Andrew Lincoln was part of a lesser-known British series that flew under the radar in France.<\/p>\n

The horror series “The Walking Dead” turned him into an international celebrity. However, prior to this fame, Andrew Lincoln was already recognized by French audiences through his roles in the comedies “Comme t\u2019y es belle!” and “L\u2019Arnac\u0153ur” opposite Vanessa Paradis and Romain Duris. His memorable scenes in the romantic comedy “Love Actually” are also fondly recalled by movie buffs.<\/p>\n

Andrew Lincoln, born Andrew James Clutterbuck, began his acting career in 1994. His first appearance was in an episode of the series “Drop the Dead Monkey,” which was never broadcast in France. This satirical comedy series depicted the chaotic daily life of a fictional British television network.<\/p>\n

First Role in a British Satirical Comedy<\/h2>\n

The future Rick Grimes made his debut in the fourth episode of season 4, titled “Births and Deaths.” In his inaugural role, he played a mock mobster who arrives at the studio to intimidate a reporter. During his visit, he causes a series of mishaps, aggressively flirting with a journalist and eventually revealing to one of the main characters of the show that he is his son.<\/p>\n

Following this initial experience, Lincoln landed his first significant television role in “This Life” (1996), a drama focusing on the lives of young graduates in London. The success of this slice-of-life series quickly established the British actor’s career.<\/p>\n

Fifteen years after his television debut, Andrew Lincoln was cast as Rick Grimes in the television adaptation of the comic book “The Walking Dead.” This role of a fearless sheriff transformed his career, cementing his place in the action genre, a departure from his earlier work in comedies and romantic films.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n\n\n
