You might recognize his face but not his name: Ryan Eggold, known from “New Amsterdam” and “The Blacklist,” stars in “Cross,” Amazon’s latest crime series.<\/p>\n

Prime Video recently debuted “Cross,” its brand-new crime series based on a character created by James Patterson. The series stars Aldis Hodge as a detective mourning the death of his wife while pursuing a cunning and dangerous serial killer.<\/p>\n

Viewers will likely recognize actor Ryan Eggold in the cast. At 40, Eggold has had a robust career. Some may have first seen him in 2013 on the crime series “The Blacklist” on NBC, where he played Tom Keen, the husband of the protagonist portrayed by Megan Boone. His character is revealed over the seasons as he plays a complex double role.<\/p>\n

A Role Against the Grain<\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Five years later, Eggold convinced NBC to cast him as the lead in a medical drama. He starred for five years in “New Amsterdam” as Dr. Max Goodwin, the director of one of the oldest hospitals in the United States, located in New York.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He aimed to overhaul the neglected facility by cutting through red tape to provide exceptional care to his patients. However, his struggles were numerous as he sought to win back his estranged pregnant wife and battled cancer that was eating away at him.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This role made him extremely popular and in-demand. Proof of this is his latest project, “Cross,” where Eggold even changes his hair to break away from his previous roles.<\/p>\n

His character, Ed Ramsey, is introduced as a charismatic and influential man who captivates everyone. He turns out to be a formidable opponent for Alex Cross. Ryan Eggold surprises and stands out by playing a manipulative, vicious, and particularly dangerous character, a stark contrast to his previous roles.<\/p>\n
