Many said they could finally balance work with personal life, something Gen Z has long championed as a non-negotiable. In fact, surveys show around 81% of Gen Z<\/strong> believe reduced hours improve performance and protect mental health \u2014 a belief Iceland\u2019s results now validate.<\/p>\n

The keys to Iceland\u2019s success<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Three major factors helped Iceland pull this off where others have stumbled.
First, there was no loss of pay or benefits, unlike models elsewhere that cram longer days into fewer workweeks.
Second, the country\u2019s heavy investment in digital infrastructure<\/strong> \u2014 among the fastest and most reliable in the world \u2014 allowed remote work and process automation to thrive, even in rural areas.
Finally, there was an unexpected bonus: greater gender equality. With more free time, men became more involved in family and household responsibilities, helping to rebalance domestic workloads.<\/p>\n
