In the science fiction drama “Chien 51” directed by C\u00e9dric Jimenez, there’s a karaoke scene that almost didn’t make the final cut, featuring Ad\u00e8le Exarchopoulos and Gilles Lellouche. It stands out as a moment of levity amidst the film’s darker tones.<\/p>\n

One particularly memorable scene in “Chien 51” is a karaoke sequence. When we had the chance to speak with the film’s crew, we couldn’t help but ask about this musical moment, which contrasts sharply with the rest of the film’s atmosphere.<\/p>\n

This playful scene was almost left on the cutting room floor. C\u00e9dric Jimenez shared with us that aside from the action scenes, this was his favorite to shoot. “It’s quite unique because it felt somewhat outside of the film\u2014it’s really a break in the narrative. We shot this karaoke scene using LED screens, which involved a rather special technique.<\/i><\/p>\n

While filming it, I kept thinking I hope it fits in the movie because I love it. It’s a small digression within the story, a little parenthesis.<\/i><\/p>\n

I think it has a fantastic place in the movie. It adds a lot to these two characters, and it brings light into this world. It\u2019s great news that it made it into the final cut.”<\/i><\/p>\n
