When Quentin Tarantino openly criticizes his acting, Matthew Lillard does not stay quiet: exploring his honest and poignant response.<\/p>\n

Following Quentin Tarantino’s criticism of several actors, one of them has spoken up. Last December, Matthew Lillard admitted he was hurt by the remarks of the two-time Oscar-winning director who had stated he \u201cdidn’t care<\/i>\u201d about the acting of the star from Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s 2, as well as those of Paul Dano and Owen Wilson.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuentin Tarantino said this week he doesn’t like me as an actor. Well, whatever. Who cares<\/i>,\u201d he told his fans at GalaxyCon in Columbus, Ohio (via Deadline<\/span>), eliciting support from the audience. \u201cListen, the thing is, it hurts. It really sucks, damn it<\/i>,\u201d Lillard added. \u201cAnd you wouldn’t say that to <\/i>Tom Cruise<\/i>. You wouldn’t say that to a Hollywood star.<\/i>\u201d<\/p>\n

Highlighting his popularity with fans of movies like Scream (1996), Scooby-Doo (2002), Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s (2023), and others, Matthew Lillard<\/span> explained: \u201cI am very popular here. I am not in Hollywood. Two totally different worlds, right? So it’s quite humiliating, and it hurts.<\/i>\u201d<\/p>\n

Tarantino Holds No Punches<\/h2>\n

Matthew Lillard’s comments follow Quentin Tarantino’s harsh critique of Paul Dano<\/span>‘s performance in There Will Be Blood (2007), which he called a \u201cbig, huge flaw<\/i>\u201d in Paul Thomas Anderson’s film.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, it’s supposed to be a two-hander, but it’s clear that it’s not<\/i>,\u201d he said. \u201c[Dano] is really bad. The weakest link. <\/i>Austin Butler<\/i> would have been great in that role. [Dano] is so bland, uninteresting. The weakest damn actor in SAG, damn [laughs].<\/i>\u201d<\/p>\n

Tarantino added: \u201cI don’t care about him, and I don’t care about Owen Wilson and Matthew Lillard either<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n
