Ewan McGregor stars in David Robert Mitchell’s new feature film, The End of Oak Street, alongside Anne Hathaway. This family blockbuster pays tribute to the Spielberg classics of the eighties, directed by the creator of It Follows, which has since become a classic of the horror genre.<\/p>\n

Ewan McGregor was first recognized in the 1990s by his fellow countryman, director Danny Boyle, who directed him in Shallow Grave (1994), Trainspotting (1996), and A Life Less Ordinary (1997). However, it was his portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy that brought him global fame in the 2000s.<\/p>\n

In 2005, he reprised his role in Revenge of the Sith, the sixth release of the saga but the third in the story’s chronological order. Released three years after Attack of the Clones, this film concludes the prequel trilogy, the “prelogy,” and also marks George Lucas’s sixth and final direction within the saga.<\/p>\n

Amidst the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker, enticed by the promise of unprecedented power, turns to the dark side of the Force and becomes Darth Vader, leading to the extermination of the Jedi by the Sith. The only survivors, Yoda and Obi-Wan, pursue him, culminating in a final lightsaber duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan that seals the galaxy’s fate.<\/p>\n

AMCHI from the AlloCin\u00e9 Club (5\/5): “With Revenge of the Sith, George Lucas beautifully concludes his prelogy, which disappointed some saga fans. For me, this trilogy is a great success in sci-fi, each film being a magical moment rarely seen in cinema. Lucas ends this new trilogy with a darker, more dramatic film, the intensity building throughout, starting with a spectacular opening scene featuring a memorable galactic battle. Ewan McGregor is truly perfect as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and, as with Attack of the Clones, I find Hayden Christensen convincing, though not a great actor. It’s just regrettable that Natalie Portman is more sidelined in this episode. In any case, a great moment in cinema, and we are treated to superb lightsaber battles.<\/i>“<\/p>\n

Cylon86 (5\/5): “Lucas concludes this prelogy with flair and provides us with a dark episode, with a poignant finale that makes us want to dive back into the original trilogy. Hayden Christensen performs very well, showcasing Anakin’s shift to the dark side, which is well introduced by a clever script. Ian McDiarmid is perfect in the role of the deceitful chancellor. This episode offers very good battles and duels (with Grievous, a new and awesome villain, a fight in the Senate, and another on Mustafar, the volcanic planet, which ends tragically). The script is very well written, clearly and without too much black-and-white morality, explaining how Anakin turned. Excellent, we’d love more, and it sends chills at the end.<\/i>“<\/p>\n

The battles (space and saber) are more breathtaking than ever, and the story is dramatic and captivating. We finally discover why Yoda had to resign himself to exile, how the twins ended up almost orphaned and separated, how most of the Jedi died, and especially how the myth became the myth, that is, how Anakin Skywalker turned to the dark side and became Darth Vader. Along the way, Hayden Christensen’s performance is perfect. In short, the best film of the Lucas saga, but also the darkest, even if it ends on a glimmer of hope.<\/i>“<\/p>\n

The last scene between Obi-Wan and Anakin really moved me and gave me chills, I almost cried! I’m really looking forward to discovering what’s next, especially the great Darth Vader!<\/i>“<\/p>\n

ManoCornuta from the AlloCin\u00e9 Club (5\/5): “If one word were needed to summarize this installment, it would be ‘breathtaking.’ Both in dramatic intensity and in thrilling action sequences, Lucas shifts into high gear and reaches the perfect peak to conclude this prelogy, which some criticized yet is far from disgraceful. Unlike the two episodes that preceded it, the actors seem this time much more on their game and fully in their roles. Despite the darkness and drama, Lucas manages to perfectly bridge the gap with the original trilogy. His film is full of beautifully crafted shots, and we are at times amazed by such a vista, which we thought lost in the 80s. Masterful.<\/i>“<\/p>\n
