7 Million Cuban Vaccines Headed for Nicaragua

Nicaragua will receive a total of seven million Cuban vaccines in the coming months, Vice President Rosario Murillo announced on Tuesday afternoon.

In her message to the country, the Vice President stated, “This morning the National Assembly urgently approved the reform of the annual budget law that our President presented to create a budget item to purchase vaccines and supplies for COVID-19.”

“In the third week of October we will be receiving more than one million doses of Cuban vaccines,” she went on to say. Another two million Soberana 2 vaccines and one million Abdala doses are then expected to arrive in November, followed by another large quantity in the month of December.

This weekend, Nicaragua’s Ministry of Health announced Emergency Use Authorization for the Cuban vaccines which have also been approved by health authorities in Venezuela and Vietnam.
