This Monday, September 14, France 2 will air the first episodes of “The Mother and the Assassin,” a series featuring Hélène de Fougerolles alongside a young actress you may recognize.
On this coming Monday, September 14, France 2 is set to broadcast the first two episodes of “The Mother and the Assassin,” a gripping drama starring Hélène de Fougerolles. In the series, she plays Morgane Jourdan, a mother who leads a seemingly orderly life with her restaurateur husband and their two teenage daughters, Océane and Alizée.
Tragedy strikes when her daughter vanishes mysteriously after catching her in bed with her lover, Hugo Bennec, the new gym teacher at the high school. Consumed by anxiety and guilt, she throws herself into the search for her daughter. What happened to her? Morgane is determined to uncover the truth.
Clotilde Courau’s Daughter Stars in “The Mother and the Assassin”
To portray Océane, Morgane’s eldest daughter, the producers chose Vittoria Di Savoia, a young woman who may look familiar as she bears a striking resemblance to Clotilde Courau. Indeed, she is the daughter of the actress and Emmanuel-Philibert de Savoie.
“I loved working with Victoria, who is absolutely ‘wow’,” Hélène de Fougerolles shared in an interview. “I was so proud to be her mom on screen. She’s kind, simple, and humble. She was very curious about everything happening on set. It was her first shoot, but since then, she has done others. I have a very maternal side, so I was thrilled to work with her and Vicky Andren, who plays my other daughter. They were my little darlings.”
While “The Mother and the Assassin” marks Vittoria Di Savoia’s first appearance, it certainly won’t be her last. On September 18, she will star in “You+Me,” a new series from Prime Video where she plays the lead role opposite Lucas Barski.
She portrays Alma Lancaster, an 18-year-old who appears to lead a perfect life within a wealthy family, believed to be studying law. In secret, she follows her true passion: filmmaking. On campus, she meets Vadim Arcadi, a 20-year-old loner with a troubled past. Forced to collaborate on a student film, they clash, grow closer, and begin to fall in love.
Catch two new episodes of “The Mother and the Assassin” this Monday, September 14 at 9:10 PM on France 2. The entire series is already available on the platform france.tv.
