“I watched ‘Jaws’,” he recounted before delving into the reasons that prompted him to finally view it.

“I don’t typically watch my own films, but I was alone, no one was with me, and I found a really good copy of ‘Jaws’. I wanted to see the film as if it were the day of its release and see if I could get through it, get to the end of the movie without reliving the nightmares of the filming. And I must say, when I got to the end, it was the first time I saw ‘Jaws’ as an audience member and not as its director.“

“I Quite Liked It”

The viewing turned out to be more soothing than he anticipated. After rediscovering his work from the perspective of just another viewer, Steven Spielberg delivered a straightforward verdict.

“I quite liked it,” the filmmaker said about the film, which has become one of the most famous of his career.
