When and Where Will the 2025 César Ceremony Take Place?
The 50th César Awards ceremony will be held on February 28, 2025. It will be broadcast live by Canal+ from the iconic L’Olympia in Paris and will also be available for streaming on myCANAL.
2025 Nominations: When Will the Nominees Be Announced?
Voting will open on January 2, 2025. A month prior to the ceremony, the complete list of nominees will be revealed on January 29, 2025. This is when we will find out the contenders in each category, including those for Best Film and Best Director, the two most coveted awards.
To recall, last year, “Le règne animal” by Thomas Cailley led with 12 nominations, followed by the Palme d’Or winner “Anatomie d’une chute” by Justine Triet (11), and “Je verrai toujours vos visages” by Jeanne Herry (9).

How Many César Awards Are Presented?
A total of 25 César awards are handed out during the ceremony. 24 of these are decided by votes. The César d’Honneur is an honorary award, selected by the Academy.

Who Will Chair the Ceremony?
Although the hosts for this edition have not yet been announced, it is confirmed that Catherine Deneuve will preside over the ceremony.
We know that Julia Roberts will be there to receive a César d’Honneur, as well as Costa Gavras.
Cédric Klapisch has been chosen to direct the 50th César Ceremony. “Cédric Klapisch will bring his creative vision and storytelling flair to the 50th Ceremony.”
Who Are the Honored Personalities?
A tribute to the artists who passed away this year will be featured as always during the ceremony. A special tribute is expected to be paid to Alain Delon.
