Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet’s Partner, Scores Her First Major Thriller Series Role

After becoming the breakout star of a family reality show, Kylie Jenner is continuing her work on television. Kim Kardashian’s sister is set to take the lead role in an upcoming series steeped in mystery.

In a surprise move, after gaining fame on The Incredible Kardashian Family on Disney+, Kylie Jenner is taking a significant step by signing on as the lead of a new Hulu series. This won’t be a light drama — the project is billed as a thriller in the vein of Netflix’s drama Unbelievable, the kind of tense, suspense-driven show that keeps viewers guessing.

Kylie Jenner cast in a tense thriller series

The news was first reported by the entertainment outlet Deadline. In the coming months, Jenner is expected to join the cast of a series currently titled Bachelorette Weekend, a working title for now. And we already have a sense of the show’s tone: it aims to deliver plenty of chills and suspense.

Here’s the premise: a bachelorette weekend turns tragic when the bride-to-be — played on screen by Kylie Jenner — is discovered dead in a pool. Her closest friends immediately fall under suspicion. Similar to how 13 Reasons Why retraced the chain of events leading up to Hannah Baker’s suicide (portrayed by Katherine Langford), this series will likely rewind the timeline to piece together what actually happened that night.

Although Jenner’s character is killed off in the first episode, she will remain the central figure around whom the story revolves. At this stage, details about which actresses will portray the bride’s inner circle — and which of them might be the killer — have not been released.

Bachelorette Weekend: a family-driven production

Few specifics have been made public so far, but one thing is clear: this will be a family affair. Kim Kardashian is attached as an executive producer, while author and screenwriter Lauren Oliver — known for creating the series Panic (2021) — will serve as showrunner.

Bachelorette Weekend is adapted from a novel by Flora Collins. The Kardashian family reportedly loved the book and were eager to turn it into a dramatic thriller series.

Thanks to Kim Kardashian’s first-look deal with 20th Television, she was able to bring Bachelorette Weekend to Hulu, Disney’s streaming platform, which quickly showed interest. After discussions, the streamer ultimately ordered a full season of the series, much to the delight of its subscribers.
