Zodiac Saga Returns! Alex Doux Dishes on His Shocking Role in Cult Series Reboot!

After a twenty-year hiatus, “Zodiaque” is set to make a comeback on TF1 very soon. Alex Doux, fresh from “Tout pour la lumière”, shares his excitement about working on this project!

With the filming of the first season of “Tout pour la lumière” just wrapped up, Alex Doux (Julian) is poised to star in the reboot of “Zodiaque”. The actor eagerly embraces the role, recognizing the series as iconic to an entire generation.

In an interview, the actor reflected on this incredible chance. And it’s safe to say, his life has taken a dramatic 180-degree turn. Insights below!

AlloCiné: You’re soon to join the cast of “Zodiaque,” were you uncertain about committing to acting as a career?

Alex Doux (Julian): The past six months of my life have been somewhat random, and I’m still grasping the reality because initially, I was inclined to decline the role in “Tout pour la Lumière”.

Now, I find myself portraying a character that evolves significantly in the series, and at the end of season 1, I was offered a role in “Zodiaque”, which is truly a landmark saga.

It’s quite iconic. I thought to myself: “Wait, are you guys sure?” Because originally, I was just a guy working in an office. But, I’m thrilled. This leads to another project with a different filming atmosphere, a new way of working, new people, new teams, and even more learning.

I’m really looking forward to it. And then, playing a different character will also help me learn more about my acting, since this character is nothing like Julian. I’m happy because this way, people will get to see more facets of Alex. And for me, I think, I might even discover new facets of myself. Besides, I also have other projects lined up, in theater and various other places.

Are you finally dedicating yourself to this career?

Yes, everything is happening organically. Everything is falling into place, and the connections I’ve made, both professionally and personally, make me feel like I’ve found something that makes me wake up in the morning and think: “Wow, another day to live this incredible life, I hope it never ends.”

Did you watch “Zodiaque” back in the day?

Well, I was about 5 years old at the time, so not really. But my parents did watch it. When they saw that I was cast, it was a bit surreal because I know that even if I hadn’t been in it, they would have still watched it.

So, I could have just turned on the TV when it was airing, and they wouldn’t have realized. But, it feels a bit strange knowing that my mom would have watched it even if I wasn’t part of it.
