First Look: “La Bataille de Gaulle” Part 2 Trailer – Epic and Spectacular!

Here’s the trailer for the second part of “The Battle of Gaulle,” subtitled “I Write Your Name.” The film is set to release on Friday, June 26. Check out the trailer!

Following the release of “The Battle of Gaulle: The Iron Age” on June 3, the sequel “The Battle of Gaulle: I Write Your Name” has had its release date moved up to Friday, June 26, 2026. Both films are directed by Antonin Baudry.

A trailer focusing on this sequel was just unveiled today. To mark the anniversary of the June 18, 1940 appeal, Pathé chose this symbolic date for the launch.

The press release describes the film as “an extraordinary epic that brings to life the struggle of Free France and the surge of hope that changed the country’s fate.”

With an ambition rarely seen in French cinema, this new installment immerses viewers in the heart of the years 1942-1944, a pivotal time leading up to the liberation.

Thierry Lhermitte Joins the Sequel

In the trailer, we see General Giraud leading the French forces, played by Thierry Lhermitte, who was not in the first installment. These new scenes hint at an even more epic and spectacular film. The cast includes Simon Abkarian as General de Gaulle, Niels Schneider, and Félix Kysyl as Jean Moulin.

June 1940. France collapses and signs the armistice. Amid the chaos, one man refuses to give in. Alone against all, this unknown general flees to London to save what remains of a dream: freedom. Without an army, without support, without hope. But with an unshakable belief: France, his France, has not laid down its arms. He makes a final bet: to convince the world that the battle for France is neither over nor lost. Reality stubbornly proves him wrong. But gradually, around him in England, France, and Africa, shadowy resisters, rebellious students, and determined soldiers rise. Their faith, their audacity, their thirst for freedom challenge the history that seemed already written.
