Sixteen years ago, audiences experienced the last chapter of the profitable DreamWorks saga, Shrek 4: Forever After. Sixteen years later, the green ogre, Donkey, and their friends are gearing up for an all-new adventure.

While the plot of the film directed by DreamWorks veterans Walt Dohrn (Trolls) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2, Madagascar 3) remains under wraps, we know that the gang will hit the road again, this time with Shrek and Fiona’s children in tow. It remains to be seen whether Puss in Boots, whose last adventure hinted at a return to Far Far Away, will join them.

Alain Chabat and Lucien Jean-Baptiste Join the French Voice Cast!

In the original casting, Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Fiona), and Eddie Murphy (Donkey) will reprise their iconic roles. Universal France has confirmed Alain Chabat’s return in the French version. The actor and director will voice the green ogre 26 years after the first film.

Lucien Jean-Baptiste will take over from the late Med Hondo, who passed away in 2019, to voice Donkey. This is a significant role as the character is set to have his spin-off, already announced for release in theaters on June 28, 2028.
