Anya Taylor-Joy Stars in ‘Team Demolition + The Queen’s Gambit’: First Look at Hot New Series!

Following the global success of “The Queen’s Gambit” on Netflix, actress Anya Taylor-Joy is making a comeback in a miniseries for Apple TV!

It has been six long years since actress Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, Split, Furiosa) graced the small screen. Following her phenomenal success in the Netflix miniseries “The Queen’s Gambit,” created by Scott Frank and Allan Scott, she has now dedicated some of her time to the Apple TV platform. She will star in the leading role of the miniseries “Lucky,” set to premiere on July 15, 2026.

What’s the Story?

In “Lucky,” Taylor-Joy plays a master con artist named Lucky, whose life spirals out of control after a multi-million dollar heist goes wrong. Forced to go on the run, she finds herself pursued by the FBI and a formidable crime boss named Priscilla. The stakes are high as Lucky fights to survive and escape the tightening noose.

Who’s in the Cast?

Anya Taylor-Joy is joined by a stellar cast in supporting roles. Timothy Olyphant (Justified, Scream 2, Live Free or Die Hard) will portray Lucky’s father, while the acclaimed Annette Bening (American Beauty, Mars Attacks!, 20th Century Women) takes on the role of the gang leader Priscilla.

The miniseries also boasts a distinguished creative team. The script is helmed by none other than Jonathan Tropper, known for creating the cult series “Banshee” and recently penning the hit “Demolition Team” for Prime Video. On the directorial front, the first glimpses of “Lucky” showcase the epic and dramatic flair of Jonathan Van Tulleken, who directed several episodes of “Shogun” and is currently involved in the upcoming “Tomb Raider” series on Prime Video.
