Black Mirror Season 7: Did You Spot This French Actor?

Season 7 of “Black Mirror” is back, delivering a mix of poignant and biting stories. Episode 3, “Hotel Reverie,” features a surprise cameo by a French actor.

The return of “Black Mirror” for its seventh season brings with it an emotional rollercoaster filled with love and sentiment. In the third episode, titled “Hotel Reverie,” we follow Brandy Friday (played by Issa Rae), an actress frustrated by her typecast roles and dreaming of breaking free.

Meanwhile, Judith Keyworth (portrayed by Harriet Walter), in an attempt to revive her struggling studio, employs the Redream technology, which allows actors to participate in high-tech remakes of classic films. Brandy finds herself immersed in her favorite movie, stepping into the impeccably tailored suit of the hero, Alex Palmer, alongside Dorothy Chambers, the era’s megastar played by Emma Corrin, who takes on the role of Clara. Confused yet?

The plot twists unexpectedly when an unforeseen element disrupts the storyline. Trapped in the film, Brandy ends up falling for Dorothy, who initially is unaware that she is portraying a character in a film, let alone being a digital clone trapped in virtual reality.

A French Actor at the Heart of the Story

But here’s a twist! A well-known French face appears in the episode. It’s none other than Stanley Weber, who plays the film’s antagonist, the husband of Clara, intent on killing his wife. Weber shared his excitement about joining Charlie Brooker’s series on his Instagram account:

This isn’t Stanley Weber’s first foray into international productions.
