Ethan Hawke Says Tom Cruise Outshines All Actors for One Specific Reason!

Currently on the promotion tour for the adventure movie “The Smugglers,” Ethan Hawke recently appeared on the show “Quotidien,” where he discussed Tom Cruise!

Is Ethan Hawke Angry?

Does Tom Cruise’s habit of performing his own stunts irritate Ethan Hawke? When asked about it, the actor answered frankly. “Thank you for asking me that. Next to him, the rest of us actors look fragile!” Hawke shared, jokingly.

“I remember when I was young, basketball players were mad at Michael Jordan because he could play both offense and defense. That wasn’t common back then. And so, Tom Cruise is so awesome that we all feel like weaklings”, Hawke continued.

He jumped off a cliff with a motorcycle! He has humiliated every member of the acting community.

“He jumped off a cliff with a motorcycle! He has humiliated every member of the acting community”, he concluded, causing laughter among the audience.

While he jokes about it, Ethan Hawke isn’t wrong to highlight the unique status of Tom Cruise, who is probably the last global superstar who takes such risks with his life during filming.

With insurance and all the safety standards, no other actor could claim such special treatment nowadays.

An Epic Adventure

However, Ethan Hawke can also boast about having played a very physical role in “The Smugglers,” currently in theaters.

The story takes us to Oregon in 1933. After the death of his wife, Samuel Murphy is torn from his daughter and sent to a merciless labor camp. When a ruthless overseer promises him freedom in exchange for a dangerous gold smuggling mission, Murphy seizes his only chance to return home.

He then embarks on an expedition full of dangers, amid hostile nature, where betrayals are frequent. How far will Murphy go to see his daughter again?

Meanwhile, Tom Cruise has put aside the stunts and fights of Mission Impossible to film under the direction of “The Revenant” director Alejandro González Iñárritu. The movie is called “Digger,” and the star has undergone a physical transformation for his role.

Tom Cruise plays the most powerful man in the world; he embarks on a frenzied mission to position himself as the savior of humanity before the disaster he himself triggered wipes out the planet.
