Helena Noguerra Reveals Her Biggest Surprise Becoming the Star of M6’s “Nouveau Jour”

On Monday, June 30, soap opera enthusiasts have a date with M6 at 8:35 PM (Monday through Friday) to check out the channel’s latest show, “Nouveau jour” (we’ve seen the first episode and loved it!). The series revolves around the Bartoli family, led by matriarch Louise, portrayed by Héléna Noguerra in the starring role.

Our heroine is a formidable woman who has inherited the family hotel. Just as she is about to marry her fiancé, family secrets and figures from the past emerge… The lives of Louise, her relatives, and her employees are suddenly upended! Are they all in danger?

By joining the cast of “Nouveau jour” on M6, Héléna Noguerra is partaking in a daily serial for the first time, a format that requires a unique and well-oiled organizational structure behind the scenes. During a set visit in April, the actress described the impressive production setup to us:

“It’s vast. It’s a real factory. There are thirty writers, two directors, studios with incredible sets, and even a castle… There are even people who work as planners to manage the schedules!“

“Watching them, you wonder: ‘What kind of minds do they have to manage the logistics for thirty-four actors, the teams…?’ They read all the scripts, break them down to understand them. They think about how to organize a budget and how to maintain that budget. I couldn’t possibly put myself in their shoes,” laughs the “Nouveau jour” star.

“Intellectual and Dynamic Forces”

Héléna Noguerra continues, praising the collective talent at work on the series: “These are powerful, intellectual, and dynamic forces, unseen but very much present in this production. There are incredible roles and people managing this crazy machine. Creating all this, and Mohamed Benyekhlef [the co-creator] has this vision in his head. It’s the magic of the series! It’s fantastic to discover.“

Finally, the actress discusses the challenges faced in this project: “It’s really a tough exercise when you’re not familiar with the genre of daily soaps like me. You’re not prepared for this when you’ve been a pampered child used to having time on a set, having longer preparations… There’s something dizzying about it.“

“But, I was warned: I’ll get the hang of it eventually! My castmates, whom I did not know but are veterans to this, told me: ‘Don’t worry, you’ll manage!’ Like an athlete, I’ve built up my strength (laughs) Anyway, this vertigo is thrilling!“
