Iconic 2000s Thriller Series Reboot: Meet the New Cast!

Following Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, the spotlight now turns to Emily Browning, Lukas Gage, and Drake Rodger! According to Variety, these three actors have landed lead roles in the upcoming reboot of Prison Break, which was initially announced last December. As previously revealed, the pilot is set in the same universe as the original 2005 series but will tell a new story with new characters. The specifics of the plot are still under wraps.

Emily Browning will portray Cassidy Collins, described as “a former soldier turned correctional officer who takes a job at one of America’s most dangerous prisons.” Lukas Gage will play Jackson, “a politician from a wealthy background embarking on his first congressional campaign.” Drake Rodger, on the other hand, will take on the role of Tommy, “an inmate at one of America’s most dangerous prisons, incarcerated ten years ago.”

Emily Browning has recently starred in series such as Class of ’07 on FX, The Affair on Showtime, and American Gods on Starz. She is also known for her roles in the action fantasy thriller Sucker Punch (2011) by Zack Snyder, as well as in the Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events.

She was recently seen in the film One More Shot, which premiered at the SXSW festival. Her other notable film roles include Legend alongside Tom Hardy, Pompeii with Kit Harington, The Shangri-La Suite, and Sleeping Beauty.

Lukas Gage has emerged in recent years with roles in HBO series The White Lotus and Euphoria, as well as the fourth season of You on Netflix. He has also appeared in Dead Boy Detectives, and the fifth season of Fargo. His film credits include horror movies like Companion and Smile 2, and the thriller Road House with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Lastly, Drake Rodger has recently starred in the Supernatural prequel series The Winchesters, aired on The CW, and has appeared in several episodes of the hit show Landman on Paramount+. He has also featured in movies such as The In Between with Joey King, and Mantra.

Produced by 20th Television, just like the original series, the reboot is written and produced by Elgin James alongside Dawn Olmstead, original series creator Paul Scheuring, Marty Adelstein, and Neal Moritz.

While we wait to see this new version, the original Prison Break is available for revisiting on Disney+.
