Julie Sassoust has recently landed a role in an upcoming TV series on TF1, featuring Clémentine Célarié among others. But will this new venture take her away from the sets of “Ici tout commence”?
Great news for fans of “Ici tout commence”: one of the long-standing stars of the daily soap opera (airing Monday through Friday at 6:35 PM on TF1) has joined the cast of another upcoming series on the same network! This star is none other than Julie Sassoust, who plays Anaïs.
Julie Sassoust in “The Diploma”
This new drama project is titled “The Diploma” and its first season will feature six episodes. In an official press release announcing the start of production this Wednesday, April 2, 2025, the network revealed an initial teaser: “Who hasn’t ever dreamed—or rather had nightmares—about retaking their high school exams?
This essential milestone in our lives is the first REAL test of our future as adults. This small yet crucial diploma enables us to go further. Yet, some do not have their high school diploma. The reasons are many: social difficulties, family issues, health concerns, tumultuous life paths, dropping out…
‘The Diploma’ follows the journey of Delphine (60 years old), Leila (41 years old), Pierre (35 years old), Sam (66 years old), Hussein (26 years old), and Jen (21 years old), six characters who, under normal circumstances, would never have met but have chosen, each for different reasons, to enroll in the Adult High School of Paris.
These everyday heroes, from very different walks of life, will thus take their high school exams at an age when it’s hardly reasonable to be sitting back in a school classroom…“
Anaïs to be absent from “Ici tout commence”?
In the cast, viewers will thus see Julie Sassoust portraying the character Jen. The young actress will act alongside seasoned performers such as Clémentine Célarié (Delphine), Bernard Campan (Sam), Camille Lellouche (Leila), Guillaume Labbé (Pierre), Ahmad Kontar (Hussein), as well as Charles Berling, Isabelle Gélinas, Vanessa Guide, and Marc Riso.
Due to Julie Sassoust’s involvement in the first season of the forthcoming TF1 series “The Diploma,” might we see less of Anaïs in “Ici tout commence” soon? Probably… With this new commitment, the actress will inevitably have less availability for the soap opera. Now, what workaround will the writers of ITC come up with to justify Anaïs’s reduced presence?
