The release date for “Kaamelott – Second Installment (Part 2)” and the full cast for both parts have been unveiled. Alexandre Astier has revealed this eagerly awaited news, complete with some exciting surprises!
Following the teaser poster revealed on July 23, Alexandre Astier took to his keyboard in early August to share some great news with franchise fans! He posted on Instagram and X to announce the exact release date for Part 2: it’s set for a cinematic release on November 11, 2026. It’s worth noting that Part 1 will hit theaters starting October 22, 2025.
Written, directed, and starred in by Alexandre Astier, the two parts making up Kaamelott – Second Installment were filmed back-to-back over an eight-month period starting last summer. The filming was a major undertaking, requiring a lot of special effects.

The Highly Anticipated Return, a Major Absence, and New Faces
King Arthur has revealed the complete cast for these two installments. There are several returns, including one that many hoped for: Simon Astier, who played Yvain, the Lion Knight and Arthur’s brother-in-law, a character missing from “KV1”, just like Kadoc of Vannes, brother of the hilarious Karadoc, who was also absent from the First Installment.
Virginie Ledoyen joins the franchise, stepping into a previously established role, that of Anna of Tintagel, previously played by Anouk Grinberg. Also noteworthy are the additions of Franck Dubosc as Alfarn and Redouane Bougheraba as Silas!
However, there is one significant absence: Perceval of Wales, played by Franck Pitiot, is missing. Has he gone off alone on a quest for the Grail in Arthur’s name? We hope one of the two films will address this surprising absence.
A Message from Alexandre Astier
Along with the cast, Alexandre Astier shares his intentions with the fans: “The second installment of Kaamelott is the chapter where Arthur sends his knights — veterans or newcomers, longtime companions or this year’s recruits — on an Adventure. It involves a colossal number of characters, grouped into teams, leaving the Round Table to prove their worth and courage around the world.”
I wouldn’t have compressed all this into two hours
This installment is lengthy, consisting of numerous parallel stories that deserve attention. It is indeed a unique installment: a single clear unit of time, the same worlds, the same adventurers… and especially, a single filming session, lasting over eight months. There are no ellipses between these two parts, and they can ultimately be viewed one after the other as a single long film. Like a big book split in two, a long show with an intermission.
For my part, the saga began with the writing of the short film Dies Iræ in 2001. Nearly 25 years later, Kaamelott continues to reflect what I want to convey at the time I write a new page: at thirty, at forty, at fifty years old today… Stories that come and go, that disappear or emerge, like the actors: those who are no longer here, those who are still here, those who have joined us, those who were gone for a while and have returned…
One of my first pleasures as a director is to welcome new actors into the world of K
I must confess that one of my first pleasures as a director is welcoming new actors into the world of K, which has become somewhat of an institution for some. Young actresses and actors, often a bit intimidated at the thought of joining the ‘historics’, find their place among us — perhaps for a long time, who knows?
What matters is to keep the writing of Kaamelott constantly evolving, adapting it to the natural constraints of a project that spans decades. And to consider these constraints as nudges from fate to the author…
Destiny — let’s capitalize it — plays a significant role in the making of a saga. Perhaps because a saga is barely a life in miniature. It’s important to listen to it! Signed AA.”
