Sean Connery Leads the Investigation

As a reminder, “The Name of the Rose” transports us to the year 1327, to a Benedictine abbey where monks are mysteriously disappearing. Franciscan monk William of Baskerville, assisted by the young novice Adso von Melk, is on the case. This is a time when the Church is in crisis, battling over its spiritual and temporal power and facing the height of the Inquisition.

The investigation by the duo faces hurdles as more mysterious deaths plague the community. Gradually, William becomes convinced that the key to the mystery lies within the heavily regulated library.
