After discussing the challenging behavior of Jean Benguigui on the set of Caméra Café, Philippe Cura took to TikTok to reveal that during the same episode, an incident occurred that not only extended the shoot by several hours but also resulted in minor injuries to some actors. On his TikTok, the actor, who portrayed the boss’s driver, shared:

“We had to stop filming for over three hours”

“In the sketch ‘Les 3 vingt,’ Jean Benguigui plays the sales rep, Yvan Le Bolloc’h is Jean-Claude Convenant, and I’m André, obviously. In the sketch, Jean-Claude asks the rep for a light for his cigarette.”

However, the character played by Jean Benguigui mistakenly pulls out a small can of pepper spray instead of a lighter and accidentally sprays J-C and André in the eyes. Behind the scenes, it turned out that the props assistant had forgotten or neglected to empty the canister.

“This means that Yvan Le Bolloc’h and I got the full blast of the pepper spray right in our faces, especially in the eyes! We had to stop filming for three hours, even more than three hours. I swear Yvan looked like a frog; I was okay, just crying with red eyes. And if you watch the sketch, you’ll see at the end I have two white pads over my eyes, and it’s definitely not for laughs!”

In the final edited version, there’s no mention of lighting a cigarette but rather the character André asking to examine the can:
