Spider-Man 4 Update: Tom Holland Reveals No Way Home Sequel Shooting Date!

Earlier this week, Tom Holland shared his excitement about the initial draft of the “Spider-Man 4” script. “There’s still some polishing up to do, but the writers are doing a fantastic job. I read it three weeks ago and really liked it. Zendaya and I read it together, and at times, we were so thrilled that we jumped around the living room, exclaiming, ‘This is genuinely a film that deserves the fans’ respect!’,” the actor stated during an interview on the Rich Roll podcast.

Appearing on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night, the actor portraying Peter Parker announced that filming for the Marvel film is set for next summer. “We’ll start shooting next summer. Everything is almost ready. It’s incredibly exciting. I can’t wait to get started.“

Thus, the production of Holland’s fourth friendly neighborhood Spider-Man adventure will commence right after the shooting of “Avengers: Doomsday,” which is scheduled for spring 2025.

Will It Release After “Avengers: Doomsday”?

“Spider-Man 4” will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” While Tom Holland and Zendaya are confirmed to return, the rest of the cast and the identity of the main villain remain under wraps. As a reminder, at the end of Jon Watts’ “No Way Home,” which made nearly 2 billion dollars at the box office, Doctor Strange erased Spider-Man from everyone’s memory worldwide.

“Spider-Man 4” is expected to premiere after the Russo brothers’ “Avengers: Doomsday,” scheduled to hit theaters on April 29, 2026. Remember, “Avengers: Doomsday” will mark the significant return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU, but this time in the role of Dr. Doom.

After his iconic portrayal of Iron Man, Downey Jr. will switch to a darker character by playing one of Marvel’s most notorious villains. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, Dr. Doom first appeared in the comic book “Fantastic Four #5” in July 1962. He shares a common trait with Tony Stark: both are megalomaniacal scientific geniuses.
