Spoilers Alert! ‘Un Si Grand Soleil’ Episode Recap for August 7, 2026!

Sabine Struggles for Acceptance

Hugo is exceptionally caring for his mother. The medical examiner got up at dawn to prepare a lavish breakfast. Sabine is the first to wake up. She uses this one-on-one time with her partner to express her feelings that Céleste doesn’t seem to like her much. After all, Hugo’s mother hardly spoke to her all evening, except to criticize her roast. Hugo reassures her that it’s all in her head, but when Céleste joins them in the kitchen, she mistakenly calls her daughter-in-law Blandine.

Later, Céleste informs the family that she plans to make a rougail saucisse that evening and has invited Caroline over. Sabine offers to go grocery shopping, but Céleste coldly tells her she will handle it.

At school, Sabine confides in Sohan that she’s already getting tired of her mother-in-law. She suspects that Céleste is deliberately forgetting her name and criticizing her cooking.

By evening, while her grandson helps her prepare dinner, Céleste shares some stories about Hugo.

Later, when Caroline arrives at Hugo and Sabine’s home, she brings Sabine flowers, but Céleste assumes they are for her and asks her daughter-in-law to put them in a vase. Céleste is particularly warm towards Caroline, thanking her for giving her such a wonderful grandson.

At the end of the meal, Céleste takes the opportunity to tell Caroline how much she admires her for starting a new life in Montpellier. Sabine tries to join the conversation, but Céleste makes every effort to exclude her.

At night, Céleste tells her son how wonderful she found Caroline, emphasizing how great it is that they reconciled. Hugo reminds her that if they are at this point today, it’s largely thanks to Sabine. However, Céleste dismisses this argument. All that matters to her is that Caroline is Pablo’s mother and will always be part of the family. Hugo counters that Sabine is also part of his family, but Céleste does not seem to agree—a conversation that Sabine overhears.

Ornella Is Not Who She Claims to Be

Ludo and Ornella seem to get along quite well, which does not sit well with Flore. She later tells William that it’s strange this young woman showed up at the farm shortly after the jewelry heist. She’s even convinced that Ornella is the one who attacked Alix and came to the farm to retrieve the treasure. Naturally, William thinks she’s overreacting.

Meanwhile, Elise visits Alix’s shop and shows her a ID card of Matthieu. The antique dealer immediately recognizes the man who tried to sell her the stolen jewelry.

At the police station, Commissioner Becker’s team reviews the case. According to their findings, Matthieu Jeanton is a circus acrobat from Paris with no criminal record, leaving Elise puzzled as to why he would come to Montpellier to commit a burglary. Becker encourages her to explore his connections and continue investigating the woman who attacked Alix.

Meanwhile, Ludo offers Ornella some homemade lemonade, giving her a chance to inquire about the farm’s profitability. Ludo explains that it’s not always easy, but he wouldn’t change his life for anything. Ornella seems to greatly appreciate this philosophy.

Elsewhere, Yann informs Elise that Matthieu Jeanton had left Paris two weeks earlier and even paid his last month’s rent. Since his landlord never saw him with a woman, the woman who attacked Alix might not be associated with him.

Later in the day, Flore quizzes Ornella about the many countries she has visited. When Ornella mentions New Zealand, where Flore had a residency, she asks about Auckland. But Ornella has an answer for everything.

In the middle of the night, Ornella is found rummaging through the drawers in the farm’s kitchen.
