Hospital Tensions Escalate
At the hospital, David confronts Clémence because a patient is questioning his treatment. Dr. Martin is puzzled; she had spent time with him that morning. David persists, but she is in a hurry to get to surgery and asks David to handle it himself. Yasmine overhears their exchange.
Later, David recaps the conversation with Yasmine. He managed to remain calm during the encounter with Dr. Martin, but he feels she cannot stand him and is obsessing over him. Yasmine believes she is harassing him.
At that moment, Claire arrives. They fill her in, but she defends Dr. Martin, attributing her behavior to stress. Claire tries to calm the situation, but David insists she doesn’t realize how Clémence is treating him.
At L Cosmetics, Elisabeth is on the phone with Alain, inquiring about Clémence’s well-being, but he tells her that a forum post has complicated things for her. Elisabeth feels terrible about it.
Muriel, who has overheard the conversation, notices Elisabeth looks pleased. Elisabeth reveals that an old harassment case involving Clémence has resurfaced. Muriel comments on the convenient timing of these events, to which Elisabeth admits that sometimes fortune helps.
Did Rebecca Truly Take Her Own Life?
Manu is distraught after finding Rebecca’s body. When he gets home, he breaks the sad news to Eve, who collapses in tears. The next morning, Manu and Eve discuss the situation.
She doesn’t understand why Manu kept his investigation from her, especially since it involved Rebecca, not just anyone. Manu explains he wanted to be certain before saying anything.
He believes it wouldn’t have changed anything; she would have died anyway. He tells Eve about a message he left Rebecca offering help. Eve reacts sarcastically, but Manu grows angry, insisting he is not to blame for Rebecca’s death. Eve counters that if he had spoken up, they might have prevented her suicide.
Upon arriving at the police station, Manu goes straight to Becker and reveals his past relationship with Rebecca, involving both him and Eve. Becker is stunned.
He tells Becker about his suspicions related to a steroid trafficking case. Manu hadn’t mentioned it earlier because it was just suspicion, but given the circumstances, he feels it’s necessary to inform him now. He protects Alex by saying he wasn’t aware. Nevertheless, the commissioner decides to take them off the case.
Later, Yann visits Manu at his office, having taken over the investigation. He wants to know why Manu suspected Rebecca. During her interrogation, she lied about not knowing Nathanaël, and her phone number appeared in the call records of Alice, the second victim.
Yann questions him about their three-person relationship. Manu is defensive, but his colleague clarifies that he just wants to know if Rebecca seemed mentally unstable. Manu says he doesn’t know. Frustrated by the questioning, Manu tells his colleague to do his job and leave him alone.
In the break room, Alex tries to lift Manu’s spirits. Manu apologizes for dragging him into this mess, but Alex reassures him, insisting it’s not his fault and that he couldn’t have known. He also doubts that Rebecca committed suicide and is waiting for the autopsy results.
Meanwhile, Charles meets with Eliott. He suspects that Rebecca did not kill herself. He knew she had financial troubles, but she was full of life and they had just become business partners, a sign she was looking forward. He was very fond of her. Eliott tries to comfort his friend.
At nightfall, Manu meets Hugo outside the police station, eager to learn the autopsy results. Hugo is reluctant to say anything since Becker had instructed him to keep Manu out of the investigation, but Manu convinces him.
Hugo reveals that Rebecca had bruises on her body, particularly on her wrists, suggesting a struggle. Furthermore, they found fabric traces under her nails. Manu concludes that this wasn’t a suicide, but a murder.
