In “A Moment of Indiscretion,” airing tonight on CStar, Lola Le Lann steals the spotlight from the film’s two stars, François Cluzet and Vincent Cassel. A decade after the film’s release, what has become of the young actress?
Released in June 2015, “A Moment of Indiscretion” enjoyed considerable success in theaters, attracting over 860,000 viewers. After the two-part “Mesrine” series, director Jean-François Richet, known for his action films, shifted gears with this sun-drenched dramatic comedy.
A remake of the 1977 film written and directed by Claude Berri, “A Moment of Indiscretion” features a star duo, Vincent Cassel and François Cluzet, who play Laurent and Antoine. Longtime friends, they vacation in Corsica with their respective daughters: Louna, 17, and Marie, 18. One evening on the beach, Louna seduces Laurent.
Louna falls in love, but for Laurent, it’s just a fleeting lapse… Without revealing her lover’s identity, Louna confides in her father, who goes to great lengths to uncover the truth. How long can the secret be kept?
To portray Marie, Jean-François Richet selected Alice Isaaz, a promising young actress destined to become familiar in the French cinematic landscape. Louna is played by newcomer Lola Le Lann, whose bold, irreverent, and impactful performance left a lasting impression.
A Remarkable Actress
In 2015, at the age of 19, she landed her very first screen role. The actress stood out during auditions with an improvisation where she had to seduce Vincent Cassel, earning her the role among more than 700 other young women. “I saw 700 girls and she was the best,” Jean-François Richet told us in 2015.
I saw 700 girls and she was the best.
“She wasn’t the most solid, but being an actor is about conveying emotions. She conveyed the most emotions,” he added. Revealed to the general public through this notable character, Lola Le Lann may not have found another role as striking, but she continued her acting career. She was seen in the series “Aux animaux la guerre” alongside Roschdy Zem in 2018.
Four years after “A Moment of Indiscretion,” she returned to the big screen in “Versus,” a drama that, unfortunately, did not find its audience. The daughter of trumpeter Éric Le Lann and actress Valérie Stroh, Lola then pursued a singing career while still appearing on television in series like “Astrid and Raphaëlle,” “Braqueurs,” and “Killer Coaster.”
Lola Le Lann Sings
Following a significant role in the thriller “Bluebird” in 2020, Lola Le Lann, now 29, will return to the big screen on April 23, 2025, in “Le Domaine.” Directed by Giovanni Aloi, the film will star Felix Lefebvre and Patrick d’Assumçao.
The story goes like this: One night, three young people gun down the owners of a hunting lodge. The man who hired them claims he only asked them to scare these people who were resisting him. How does one come to kill at barely twenty years old when it’s not wartime?
