Best Superhero Movie of 2022 Scores 4.1/5 – Also a Top Ultra-Realistic Thriller!

Five years after the success of “War for the Planet of the Apes”, Matt Reeves ventured into a genre far from his comfort zone: the superhero film. And it’s safe to say that his take on “The Batman” hit the mark, even ranking as the best superhero movie of 2022.

The Batman: A Tense Showdown Between Robert Pattinson and Paul Dano

With a score of 4.1 out of 5 from 20,549 ratings and 1,993 reviews, Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” competes closely with “The Dark Knight” by Christopher Nolan, still considered the best superhero movie of all time. In this exceptionally dark thriller, Robert Pattinson plays the iconic billionaire Bruce Wayne. He is younger and more vulnerable than previous renditions of Batman but equally determined to bring order and peace to Gotham. Alongside him, Zoë Kravitz dons the famous leather suit as Catwoman, Colin Farrell portrays The Penguin (pre-series), John Turturro embodies Carmine Falcone, and Jeffrey Wright plays Commissioner Gordon.

However, it’s truly Paul Dano who steals the show as The Riddler. Just like in “Prisoners” where he played a mentally delayed individual suspected of kidnapping two young girls, the American actor needed to separate his personal life from his professional life, as he explained: “I needed to separate my space. Because if I read a book about trauma or serial killers, I can’t sleep with it.” His performance is a resounding success on screen!
