In the final installment, the turtles find themselves in 17th century Japan, battling a tyrannical warlord and aiding a village on its path to peace.

A New Generation, A New Adventure

It would be over a decade before our heroes reappeared in a new film, TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this time completely rendered in CGI. In this film, the four protagonists have parted ways, each leading their own lives, but are brought back together to tackle 13 ancient monsters unleashed in New York.

The two latest live-action films (Ninja Turtles and its sequel, both co-produced by Michael Bay) were released in 2014 and 2016. In the first, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with the help of their journalist friend, must stop Shredder from releasing a toxic gas in New York City, while in the sequel, they face Krang, an extra-dimensional entity aiming to conquer the world.
