Their encounter dates back to 2015 on the set of the romantic comedy Maggie’s Plan, co-written and directed by Rebecca Miller, which also starred Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke, and Julianne Moore. Daniel Day-Lewis, who is Miller’s husband, was impressed by Fimmel’s performance in Vikings and recommended his wife cast him in the film. In this movie, Travis Fimmel played a producer and pickle salesman, who becomes a prospective sperm donor for Greta Gerwig’s character.
