Hit Fantasy Saga of the 2000s Gets Remake with Former James Bond Star!

Greta Gerwig might be teaming up with the former James Bond for her highly anticipated remake of “The Chronicles of Narnia”: here are the latest updates!

While negotiations are still in the early stages, sources have told Deadline that Netflix and director Greta Gerwig are aiming high for the cast of the upcoming remake of The Chronicles of Narnia: Daniel Craig has reportedly received an offer to join the cast…

However, the media outlet notes that it’s still uncertain whether Daniel Craig will accept the proposal, though he has indeed been given the offer. It is also not yet known what role he is being considered for.

Although the project is still in its early phases, Netflix and Greta Gerwig are preparing diligently, with filming expected to begin later this year. Earlier this month, Deadline also reported that Charli XCX was in talks to play the White Witch.

In 2018, Netflix announced the development of new series and film projects based on the beloved novel series The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, and enlisted Greta Gerwig in 2020 to adapt and direct the first film. The project is still in its initial stages and details are scarce. As previously announced, the film will enjoy an exclusive two-week global Imax release for Thanksgiving 2026, before hitting Netflix.

If the project goes through, the deal would mark a sort of reunion between Daniel Craig and Netflix: the actor famously portrayed super detective Benoit Blanc, the cornerstone of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out franchise, which has a deal with the platform. The first film under this deal was Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022), and the next installment, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, is set to release later this year.
