Watch Trailer for “Just an Illusion” – 2026’s Most Anticipated Comedy with Camille Cottin & Louis Garrel!

Following the release of two intriguing teasers, the trailer for “Just an Illusion,” the highly anticipated new comedy from Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache starring Camille Cottin, Pierre Lottin, Louis Garrel, and a host of talented young actors, is finally here.

Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache have firmly established themselves as one of the most beloved comedy directing duos in France, boasting eight feature films that have collectively drawn over 31.3 million viewers, nearly 20 million of which were for “Intouchables” alone.

Their films, known for their engaging casts and compelling storylines, often touch on relevant social issues of the time.

Following their 2023 release “A Tough Year,” the duo is back with “Just an Illusion.” The official trailer has landed after two intriguing teasers.

Previous teasers:

The footage highlights the character Vincent, a 13-year-old whose life the film explores. He is portrayed by Simon Boublil, son of Philippe Torreton and journalist Elsa Boublil. The teaser also features young actress Jeanne Lamartine and Vincent’s father, played by Louis Garrel.

These visuals follow those focusing on the characters played by Pierre Lottin, Camille Cottin, and Louis Garrel:

A Stellar Cast

The cast includes Camille Cottin (known from “Call My Agent!” and upcoming president of the 2026 César Awards ceremony), Louis Garrel (“The Innocent”), and Pierre Lottin (winner of the 2026 César Award for Best Supporting Actor for “The Outsider” and one of the stars of “In Fanfare”).

The plot is set in 1985 in a suburban Parisian middle-class family. It follows Vincent, almost 13, caught between an aloof older brother and constantly bickering parents. As he navigates the transition from child to adult, the film delves into his reflections and doubts about identity, friendship, family, and his thoughts on religion, desire, and love.

Toledano and Nakache also penned the script for this ninth feature, produced by Quad Films (Nicolas Duval) and Ten Films (Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano).

Since their debut film in 2005, “Let’s Stay Friends,” the duo has tackled various societal themes. Much like their second film, “Those Happy Days,” “Just an Illusion” is set in the past.

The film is scheduled for release in cinemas on April 15, 2026.
