Watch the trailer for “Rembrandt” featuring Camille Cottin and Romain Duris. The film, both written and directed by Pierre Schoeller (“The Minister”), is hitting theaters on September 24, 2025.

Seven years after “One Nation, One King” and a stint in television with “In the Shadows” for France TV, Pierre Schoeller returns with a new feature film: “Rembrandt”.

As revealed in the trailer, the film is not a biographical account of the painter. Instead, Rembrandt is referenced indirectly as a pivotal element of the plot.

The filmmaker, known for his acclaimed work “The Minister”, in this movie delves into the lives of two career nuclear physicists (played by Camille Cottin and Romain Duris). During a visit to the National Gallery, Claire is profoundly moved by three Rembrandt paintings. This encounter with the masterpieces will change their lives forever…

The movie stars Camille Cottin and Romain Duris, supported by Denis and Bruno Podalydès, and Céleste Brunnquell in supporting roles.

“Rembrandt” is shaped as a thriller set against a backdrop of eco-anxiety, as the teaser suggests, where tension is palpably felt. “What if we are wrong about climate hazards?”, poses the character played by Camille Cottin. “Something’s off, but I can’t figure out what,” responds Romain Duris’s character.

To uncover the mystery of this thriller, catch it in theaters on September 24, 2025.
