Secrets Unveiled: Claire’s Plot Against the Newmans in “The Young and the Restless”

Who exactly is Claire in “The Young and the Restless”? Recently arriving in Genoa City, the character played by Hayley Erin (did you know she has been part of the show for two years but in a different role?) quickly earned the trust of Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) by becoming her assistant. Unfortunately, this young woman harbors some dark secrets and plans to harm the Newmans!

Warning, the following contains major spoilers about the plot of “The Young and the Restless” in the coming months on TF1! If you don’t want to know what happens in the show, stop reading now…

Claire is the daughter of…

Soon in “The Young and the Restless,” Claire’s scheme moves to the next level: she tells Nikki that her beloved Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) (whom she frequently talks to on the phone…) is very ill. Victor’s wife (Eric Braeden) then urges her to rush to her aunt’s bedside using the Newman’s private jet.

Nikki, also needing the plane to visit her sister, joins the trip and agrees to make a detour to Jordan’s house because she greatly admires the successful businesswoman… Sadly, it’s a trap! Claire drugs Nikki on site and she is held captive! Jordan even forces her to drink alcohol again…

Claire returns to Genoa City and tells the Newmans that Nikki is in dire straits. She fabricates a story that they must find her immediately to assist her and Victor, Nick (Joshua Morrow), and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) comply. They, too, fall into the clutches of the wicked Jordan and Claire, who poison them!

The Newmans in Shock

Claire then arranges for Victoria to reunite with Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), her ex with whom she was married and had lost a baby in the 1990s! She and Jordan finally reveal the entire truth: Claire claims she is the child that Cole and Victoria thought had died at birth!

Fed with false information by Jordan all her life, Claire blames her parents for abandoning her. Overwhelmed, Victoria and Cole insist that they were told at the time that their daughter had died… They had been devastated.

But then Jordan steps in and confesses to having stolen baby Claire, seeking revenge for how the Newmans had treated her sister, Eve Howard (Cole’s mother, thus), forty years ago! The deceased was a former lover of Victor who had caused many scandals…

Is Jordan Gone for Good?

Deeply shocked and disoriented, Claire becomes confused and unsure of whom to trust. She eventually turns against Jordan, who appears increasingly unstable and dangerous. She provides an antidote to everyone and Victor manages to lock Jordan in a room… from which she escapes.
