Un Si Grand Soleil: Johanna Can’t Forget Yann, Aurore Delplace Reveals!

During the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, AlloCiné caught up with Aurore Delplace to discuss the breakup between Johanna and Yann.

For several years, Yann (Constantin Balsan) and Johanna (Aurore Delplace) were one of the standout couples in “Un Si Grand Soleil.” Unfortunately, last April, their relationship took a dramatic turn when Johanna discovered that her husband had been cheating on her for months. This revelation inevitably marked the end of their relationship.

At the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, AlloCiné spoke with Aurore Delplace about this unexpected breakup.

AlloCiné: The big news in USGS these past few months has obviously been the split between Yann and Johanna. How did you feel about this separation?

Aurore Delplace: It was tough for me! I really lost my friend and partner. We always had so much fun acting together, so it was very sad. We share a similar approach to acting and we complement each other well. But as an actress, I found the storyline fantastic and really great to act out.

Were you surprised by this turn of events?

Yes, I was very surprised. I was sure she would forgive him, but no, I was completely wrong (laughs).

Has Johanna truly moved on from Yann? Is a reconciliation between them possible?

I think Johanna hasn’t really moved on and she forces herself to hate him as a way to guard against her feelings and protect herself. But I imagine there’s still love there. You can’t forget a relationship that lasted so long. I believe they still love each other.

The discovery of Yann’s infidelity led to some very intense scenes. Were they difficult to perform? Did you enjoy acting them out?

Yes, we really enjoyed it. We had a lot of fun filming those scenes, even though they were very intense.

I think the fact that Constantin Balsan and I were genuinely sad about parting ways and not acting together anymore probably helped to make those scenes more genuine. It added something extra to our emotions. They were very intense scenes. We were exhausted after the days of filming.

Would you like to see Johanna find a good man? Or would you prefer she takes some time for herself?

If I answer as Aurore, it’s either she gets back with Yann or she gets left alone (Laughs). I would love for them to reunite but in a somewhat romantic way.

Something like: one saves the other from a situation or problem and that brings them back together. And then they manage either to adopt or to have a child. I would like to see something beautiful and romantic.
