Two “Game of Thrones” actors have subtly joined the cast of “Alien: Earth,” the new hit sci-fi horror series on Disney+. Did you spot them?
From Westeros to outer space, the transition seems seamless. The brutal world of “Alien: Earth” features two familiar faces from the Seven Kingdoms! This prequel series by Noah Hawley, which is currently a big hit on Disney+, includes in its cast two former “Game of Thrones” stars who have traded their medieval garb for space suits.
Here’s a hint: one of them played Lady Crane, the kind-hearted actress from HBO’s saga’s season 6. The other, more understated, portrayed Yezzan zo Qaggaz, a slaver from Meereen.
Essie Davis, Australian Elegance
Australian actress Essie Davis, memorable as Lady Crane in three episodes of “Game of Thrones,” now plays Dame Sylvia in “Alien: Earth.” In this series, she is a scientist with Prodigy Corporation, heading their Hybrid Program—a far cry from her theatrical days in Westeros.
Davis, also known for her role in the psychological thriller “The Babadook” and the series “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries,” brings her usual grace to this pivotal role in the sci-fi series.
Enzo Cilenti, Subtle Yet Effective
Enzo Cilenti, transitioning from fantasy to sci-fi horror, also brings depth to the series. The actor, who played the slaver Yezzan zo Qaggaz in seasons 5 and 6 of “Game of Thrones,” now portrays Petrovich, a crew member aboard the spaceship USCSS Maginot.
Cilenti, recently seen in season 7 of “Black Mirror,” takes on a supporting role here. This dual “Game of Thrones” presence in the “Alien” universe highlights the series’ meticulous casting that skillfully blends space horror with psychological tension.
Join us every Wednesday on Disney+ for a new episode of “Alien: Earth.”
