George Clooney Claps Back at Quentin Tarantino for Doubting His Star Status

Once allies in the cult classic “From Dusk Till Dawn” directed by Robert Rodriguez, where they fought vampires side by side, George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino now find themselves at odds.

Last year, during an interview with GQ magazine promoting the release of “Wolfs” on Apple TV+ – an action comedy by Jon Watts starring Clooney alongside Brad Pitt – Clooney sharply reacted to Tarantino’s claim that in 2023 he was a “has-been.”

“Quentin has been talking trash about me lately, so I’m a bit annoyed. He gave an interview where he was listing movie stars. He mentioned you [Brad Pitt was with him during the interview] and someone else, then someone asked: ‘And George?’ And he said: ‘He’s not a movie star.’”

“Quentin literally went on to say something like: ‘Name one of his movies since the 2000s’,” continued Clooney, who also criticized another filmmaker in the same interview.

Clooney responded bluntly: “What do you mean, since the 2000s? The 2000s are practically my entire damn career! So now, okay dude, f*ck off! I don’t mind speaking badly of him, because he spoke badly of me.”

Despite this clear tension, it’s unlikely that this feud will last, especially since Brad Pitt, who was present during the interview, laughed out loud at his colleague and friend’s outrage. George Clooney also quickly moderated his words: “No, but we are really fortunate to have been able to work with all these great filmmakers. The director and the script, that’s what keeps us alive.” This clearly shows that his remarks were meant to be taken with a sense of humor.
