Is This Key Character Leaving 9-1-1? Find Out Now!

Season 8, Episode 8 of “911” aired this Thursday night in the U.S., ending on a cliffhanger that could potentially change everything for the characters.

It’s no secret: since “9-1-1” debuted in 2018, the writers have consistently thrilled viewers with gripping cliffhangers. The latest, Episode 8 of Season 8, which aired on November 21 on ABC, certainly continues this trend.

Is Eddie Leaving?

Following the events of Season 7, Christopher has chosen to distance himself from his father and has moved to Texas to live with his grandparents. This departure has heavily impacted Eddie (Ryan Guzman) throughout the early episodes of Season 8.

In Episode 8, Eddie realizes the growing gap between him and his son cannot continue to widen. He thus informs Buck (Oliver Stark) that he has decided to move to El Paso to be closer to Christopher.

Does this mean Ryan Guzman is exiting the show? 9-1-1 showrunner Tim Minear addressed this question in an interview with TVLine.

Minear was notably coy in his response, stating that Eddie is “extremely serious” about moving but also added “for now.” This enigmatic statement leaves room for speculation.

How Will Buck Respond to the Move?

Although Buck supports Eddie’s decision to leave Los Angeles and even offers to help him find housing in El Paso, he is clearly troubled by the news. “As soon as Eddie turns his back, Buck looks like he’s been hit in the head with a baseball bat, and this will play a significant role in the rest of the season,” Minear revealed.

“Buck has long-standing abandonment issues stemming from his childhood, so this will definitely affect him. It remains to be seen how he will handle it.”

According to Tim Minear, Buck, played by Oliver Stark, will face yet another challenge that will affect the Buckley family later in Season 8. Buck “will feel even more abandoned by Episode 10.” Stay tuned for more developments!
