Originally scheduled for a March release before being postponed to an unspecified later date, “Die My Love,” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, will now hit French theaters on April 29.
There wasn’t much worry, as every film showcased in the Cannes Film Festival Competition is expected to be released in French cinemas subsequently, a rule implemented in 2017 following Netflix’s first (and last) attempt to win the Palme d’Or. However, “Die My Love” was the only title from the 2025 selection that hadn’t been scheduled for release. Until now.
Initially set for March 4 this year, the film directed by Lynne Ramsay (A Beautiful Day, We Need to Talk About Kevin) and featuring Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson, and Sissy Spacek was delayed by its distributor StudioCanal “to a later date to be announced soon” last November. Since then, there had been silence, sparking a few questions.
Time To Die (My Love)
Today, everything is clear: the feature film will premiere on April 29 in French cinemas, and it will be distributed by Bac Films, which has picked up the project dropped by StudioCanal. This explains the uncertainty surrounding “Die My Love” for several months. This time appears to be the charmed attempt for this intensely dramatic (and at times deliberately uncomfortable) movie that blends elements of fantasy and horror to discuss themes of motherhood and postpartum depression.
Triple Feature with Robert Pattinson
If the Cannes buzz or the trailer has intrigued you, you have just under three months left to wait before you can witness Jennifer Lawrence in what is touted as the most powerful performance of her career. This is the second of three upcoming Robert Pattinson films set for 2026 in our region, following The Drama (April 8) and the third installment of Dune, currently scheduled for December 16. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the release date of Dune shift to avoid a direct clash with Avengers Doomsday.
