To save his job, David (Philippe Lacheau) agrees to a sketchy scheme: to bring a mysterious package back from South America. He finds himself on a cruise with his ex-girlfriend Tess (Élodie Fontan), his son Léo (Corentin Guillot), and his bumbling colleague Stéphane (Julien Arruti), whom David uses to carry the package. Chaos ensues when Stéphane accidentally opens it, revealing an adorable baby Marsupilami, turning their journey into a wild ride!
The time has come: this week, the Marsupilami has (finally!) made its grand return to cinemas. Thirteen years after Alain Chabat’s version, Philippe Lacheau takes his turn with the iconic yellow animal with black spots created by comic artist André Franquin. Joined by his usual crew (Élodie Fontan, Julien Arruti, Tarek Boudali, and Reem Kherici), the director delivers a high-energy family comedy designed as a major entertainment spectacle. Joining the usual cast is a star-studded lineup – Jamel Debbouze, Alban Ivanov, Jean Reno – for an adventure as tumultuous as it is exotic, deserving to be experienced in the best possible setting: a Dolby Cinema theater.
Embark on a Cruise as Wild as It Is Stunning
At first glance, David’s task seems simple: transport a package from South America to France. However, it turns into a true saga filled with obstacles for David and his companions. From the urban landscapes of South America to the lush, green wilderness of the Amazon forest, the heroes are far from the end of their journey… much to the delight of the audience! While the typical humor of the famous “Fifi gang” is certainly present, offering a plethora of gags and awkward situations, the adventure offers moviegoers grand moments of escape, which deserve to be experienced in the best conditions thanks to the visual and auditory quality of Dolby Cinema theaters. Indeed, these theaters provide a laser 4K projection enabled by HDR Dolby Vision technology, meticulously enhancing the dim light of the jungle and the contrasts between plant and animal colors to appreciate their richness. Moreover, the new adventures of Marsupilami are not limited to a forest setting: numerous sea sequences allow viewers to explore the rich color spectrum of the film, adding dozens of shades of blue to complement the greens and yellows.
More than just a movie screening, a Dolby Cinema presentation of Marsupilami offers a transporting and unforgettable experience for the whole family, akin to a true journey to equatorial lands. This immersive experience actually begins before entering the theater, thanks to a hallway exceptionally decorated in the colors of the famous animal, plunging viewers directly into the ambiance of the film with dynamic lighting and epic music, signaling the start of a great adventure!
Dive Deeply into a Journey Full of Twists and Turns
Beyond the quality of the image, the immersion of the audience is further enhanced by the sound, which plays a particularly important role in these new adventures of Marsupilami. From behind, above, on the sides… Mirroring the antics of the adorable animal, the sound reverberates throughout the theater thanks to the unique Dolby Atmos technology, consisting of multiple speakers, offering perfect synchronization of sound and action, and creating a truly immersive bubble for the viewer to dive completely into the spectacle. Sounds of wild fauna, endearing cries of an animatronic more realistic than ever, and epic sound effects of action scenes thus envelop the viewer, drawing them into the heart of the adventure.
This sound quality also allows one to enjoy the superb songs by Ricky – a hilarious character played by Tarek Boudali – and the nearly perfect Spanish of Pablito Camaron, portrayed by a peak-form Jamel Debbouze, reprising his role more than a decade after On the Trail of the Marsupilami.
Ultimate Comfort to Enjoy a Wild Adventure
The icing on the cake: While the adventures of David and his friends are anything but calm, between flying punches, wild encounters, and breathless chases, Dolby Cinema theaters allow the viewer to participate in this marvelous odyssey from the absolute comfort of their premium Recliner seats. These theaters are equipped with head-to-toe reclining chairs with a wider seat than usual. Say goodbye to traditional pins and needles, which can stay in the jungle rather than in the legs of the spectators! An ideal setting to relax, let go, and enjoy a barrage of jokes, as the gags keep coming without pause!
