As we wonder how Billy Butcher’s team will take down their arch-nemesis Homelander, an unexpected cameo in a seemingly minor scene stole the spotlight. Featuring Deep, the aquatic superhero played by Chance Crawford, this scene included a globally famous actor—none other than Samuel L. Jackson! To catch this, however, one had to watch the episode in its original language.

Eric Kripke, the series creator, revisited this unexpected cameo. He explained to Polygon that most guest appearances on The Boys are orchestrated by Seth Rogen, the series producer, who also made a humorous cameo in this final season.

Why Samuel L. Jackson Immediately Agreed to Voice Xander

Kripke noted that Jackson was their top choice for the role of Xander the Shark due to his distinctive voice, which is one of the most recognizable in Hollywood. They simply approached his agent directly.

Fortunately, the actor best known as Nick Fury in the Marvel saga is a huge fan of the show. His agent quickly confirmed Jackson’s participation, and the rest is history.
