Netflix’s New Action-Comedy Series Adapted from Hit Book!

The animated series “Sakamoto Days,” now available on Netflix, is based on the manga of the same name by Yuto Suzuki.

Eagerly awaited by fans for several months, the adaptation of Yuto Suzuki’s manga “Sakamoto Days,” published by Glénat, has finally landed on Netflix. The streaming platform launched the first episode of the anime on Saturday, January 11th, and will continue to release new episodes weekly in simulcast.

“Sakamoto Days” features Taro Sakamoto, a legendary assassin who has since retired and settled down as a family man and plump grocery store owner. However, it’s only a matter of time before his past catches up with him, compelling him to utilize his extraordinary skills once again.

A Hero Netflix Subscribers Will Embrace

In his adventures, the former assassin is joined by a cast of unlikely companions, including his fiercely protective wife. The charm of the show lies in Sakamoto’s efforts to avoid trouble, resorting to his strength only as a last resort. Undoubtedly, this dad-version of Saitama (One-Punch Man) will quickly win over Netflix subscribers’ hearts.

With the manga still ongoing in Japan—20 volumes released, 16 of which are also available in France—and over seven million copies sold worldwide even before the anime adaptation premiered, multiple seasons of the series are anticipated.

The animation for the series is handled by TMS Entertainment, promising a quality production. The initial trailers released have been positively received by manga fans, although the main theme of the opening credits has received mixed reactions online.

The animated series “Sakamoto Days” can be found exclusively on Netflix, with new episodes premiering weekly.
