NEW RELEASES

Dandadan

Starting October 3 on Crunchyroll, ADN, and Netflix.

This is THE release creating the most buzz this fall. The animated adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s sensational manga finally arrives across three simulcast platforms. The series follows two high schoolers: Momo Ayase, who believes in ghosts and paranormal phenomena, and Ken Takakura, who is fascinated by extraterrestrial life.

They attempt to convince each other of the reality of these supernatural forces, launching them into both thrilling and hilarious adventures. Indicative of high anticipation, the first three episodes of the series were released in theaters as a feature film, Dandadan: First Encounter.

Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii

Starting October 7 on Crunchyroll.

After a surprisingly quiet adolescence in the heart of Osaka’s underworld, Yoshino’s life is turned upside down when her grandfather engages her to the son of a rival clan. Reluctantly moved to Tokyo, she finds her future husband to be charming and gentle… but appearances can be deceiving, and her new daily life is far more dangerous than she had imagined.

Blood, mobsters, and a dash of romance (perhaps?), that’s what Yakuza Fiancé promises, a psychological drama that looks to surprise! With its vivid characters and unique graphic style provided by Studio DEEN, it’s one of the most anticipated anime this fall.

Dragon Ball DAIMA

Starting October 11 on ADN, Crunchyroll, and from October 15 on the Mangas channel.

The fifth spin-off series of Dragon Ball, this new production is also the final creation of Akira Toriyama (who passed away last March 1st). Dragon Ball DAIMA is a testamentary work, as the anime returns to the humorous and adventurous tone of the early volumes of the famous manga.

Blue Lock (season 2)

Starting October 5 on Crunchyroll.

Following the European Cup that concluded on July 14 last year, the members of Blue Lock return for the most anticipated match in the anime realm. After passing the first phase of this battle royal-style football competition, Isagi and his teammates must now defeat the Japanese U-20 team in an official match to continue their rise.

With an avalanche of new players and stakes much higher than in season 1, the dynamics of this twisted competition are reignited for this new batch of episodes that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last goal! Let’s hope for better animation quality than what some trailers have shown, suffering from many static shots…

Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse (season 2)

Starting October 6 on Netflix.

Already a season 2 for the continuation of Seven Deadly Sins. Broadcast since October 2023, this anime follows the adventures of young Perceval, sixteen years after the fall of the Demon King and the Supreme Deity.

Adhering to traditional shōnen tropes, the series also draws inspiration from Arthurian tales, as well as famous stories of chivalry and biblical legends. A particularly effective mix of worlds, which explains the success this original Netflix production has seen among subscribers on the platform.

BEASTARS (season 3)

Starting December on Netflix.

Unexpected but finally arriving: the final season of BEASTARS, the successful manga adaptation by Itagaki Paru. This marks our third and last dive into this anthropomorphic world, where carnivores and herbivores coexist, setting aside their differences. But is cohabitation still possible after Legoshi devoured the leg of his classmate?
