Pierre Richard Returns to Directing After 25 Years, New Film in the Works!

Since 1997, with his film “Straight into the Wall,” Pierre Richard has been directing his latest film titled “The Man Who Saw the Bear Who Saw the Man.”

Pierre Richard is well-known as the charming star of classic comedies. However, it’s sometimes overlooked that he has also directed eight feature films between 1970 and 1997. After nearly three decades of focusing on acting, it has been revealed by Le Film Français that he is currently directing his ninth feature film.

The new film is titled “The Man Who Saw the Bear Who Saw the Man.” At 90 years old, Pierre Richard will be both in front of and behind the camera. The plot unfolds as follows: Despite the many years between them, Grégoire and Michel share an extraordinary and whimsical friendship. One day, a nearby circus announces that its bear has escaped…

The film is co-written by Pierre Richard and Anne-Sophie Rivière. Young actor Timi-Joy Marbot will join the cast, acting alongside Pierre Richard. Gustave Kervern is also set to appear. Filming is taking place in Occitanie and will continue until November 6.

On another note, Pierre Richard will also appear in Xavier Beauvois’s upcoming film “The Valley of the Fools,” set to release on November 13 (see trailer above). He was also featured this summer in the movie “Cracked.”
