Sarah Michelle Gellar became a household name through her role as Buffy Summers. The actress was even honored with a CANAL+ Icon Award during the 6th edition of the CANNESERIES festival in 2023 in France. At this event, she hosted a masterclass where she discussed the significant impact Buffy had on a generation:

“She gave a voice to something I deeply believe in. That is, when you bring people together – because I was going to say women – but really, just people in general, we can achieve anything. We can accomplish a lot and, often in life, society tends to pit us against each other.”

“And Buffy was about that. It wasn’t a show that spoke about all women, but rather about all people who are different. And the fact that we can accept these differences.”
