But as they draw closer, at the bow of the lead ship, Commander Davos Seaworth spots another vessel moving in the opposite direction, towards them. Oddly enough: it is completely empty.

As a flaming arrow splits the air, shot by Bronn under Tyrion’s command, Commander Stannis realizes too late what is about to happen. Soaked in wildfire, a fuel that cannot be extinguished, the solitary ship bursts into flames, and in a greenish explosion, it takes half of the fleet with it.

At the end of the episode, it is only the unexpected arrival of Jaime that finally allows the city to defeat the invader.
