Famed for his role in “Walker Texas Ranger” and as a staple in action cinema, this actor made his big screen debut in 1968.
A towering figure in martial arts and action films, best known for his lead role in the series Walker Texas Ranger, American actor Chuck Norris passed away last March at the age of 86.
He was particularly celebrated for his roles in iconic films such as Delta Force, Missing in Action, and The Expendables 3, and remains beloved by many fans for his legendary one-liners.
Chuck Norris’s First Role
Among many, some memorable quotes include the striking “I can put my foot wherever I want, Little John, and it’s often in your face,” the very effective “Say hello from Alfred,” or the swift “Now that’s a punch,” all complemented by the hilarious Chuck Norris Facts.
But in 1968, as he walked onto his very first film set, Chuck Norris was still unknown. At the age of 28, he played a minor role in the spy comedy The Wrecking Crew. Led by Dean Martin and Sharon Tate, the movie followed the escapades of an American counter-espionage agent tasked with tracking down Count Contini, who was accused of causing a global financial crisis after stealing a billion dollars.
Against Bruce Lee
Just four years after his initial cinematic experience, Chuck Norris significantly stepped up his game by starring in the iconic Way of the Dragon, where he showcased his martial arts skills against Bruce Lee himself, playing his adversary, Colt. Despite it being the only film in which he lost a fight, Way of the Dragon nonetheless opened the doors of Hollywood for him.
