The unsettling advance of AI continues! What many actors have feared as artificial intelligence rose to prominence is now happening: a virtual “actress” will portray a character in a movie. And the most incredible part is that you might already recognize her face…

Virtual Actress Tilly Norwood Lands a Movie Role

It’s official, Tilly Norwood, created by artificial intelligence, will star in the AI-generated film Misaligned, a project by British studio Particle 6. Tilly Norwood was designed in 2025 by Dutch talent Eline Van der Velden of the AI talent studio Xicoia. As of today, she has over 159,000 followers worldwide on Instagram.

What’s the premise of Misaligned? A manipulative and seductive robot convinces Tilly Norwood to cast caution to the wind and develop her own desires, impulses, and ambitions. According to Particle6, this film will be “a coming-of-age narrative infused with existential chaos linked to AI,” while Eline Van der Velden adds, “It will definitely be funny, chaotic, and self-aware, very much Tilly.”

While no release date has been announced yet, it’s clear that with this first film featuring an AI actress, the director has something deeper in mind: “Beneath that layer, there’s something deeper about identity, performance, and our very human fears about AI. And yes, art will very clearly imitate life.”

“We’re Going to Help Filmmakers”

In this statement, the Dutch visionary behind the project explained her goal to reconcile filmmakers with AI: “help traditional filmmakers who join the team to refine and adapt to a world where AI.” She believes that artificial intelligence will soon play an increasingly significant role in the film industry.

Eline Van der Velden is also convinced that “The filmmakers who will thrive in the next decade will be those who apply their decades of narrative instinct to these new tools.” It remains to be seen how this fully AI-driven film will be received.
