Shocking Sabotage Attempts Coming This Summer, Reveals Olivier Sitruk in ‘Ici Tout Commence’

In “Here Everything Begins,” Étienne Castelmont is making a comeback! This provided an opportunity for the AlloCiné editorial team to chat with Olivier Sitruk about what’s in store for his character during the summer arc!

Étienne Castelmont is back in “Here Everything Begins”! Set on reclaiming the title of France’s top culinary school, he becomes the new adversary of Teyssier (played by Benjamin Baroche).

This return sparked a discussion with Olivier Sitruk, who plays Castelmont. So, what can we expect from this villain in the summer arc? Expect surprises… Let’s delve into the details!

AlloCiné: Will we learn more about the backstory between Teyssier and Castelmont, since so far, it’s pretty vague?

Olivier Sitruk: Not really. We don’t uncover much more than before. Historically, the only known issue is that Teyssier criticizes Castelmont for being too lenient, too nice, and far too soft, while he is much tougher. Other than that, their rivalry is fueled by a competition, but there aren’t any other significant reasons.

Will there be any dirty tricks between them?

Actually, it’s more about Castelmont sabotaging himself. It’s a contest, so yes, there will be attempts at sabotage and accusations. Initially, suspicions might fall on Cardone or Castelmont. However, there will also be minor sabotages, often leading to speculation about a third perpetrator.

Do we learn more about the relationship between Ferdinand and Étienne?

Their relationship remains strained. The story kicks off with Ferdinand having ruined the restaurant I had funded, so things aren’t going well. Nevertheless, Castelmont needs Ferdinand to organize the competition. However, don’t expect any acknowledgment from father to son in this narrative arc. The tension is what makes their relationship intriguing.

Will the USB drive with videos and the past be mentioned?

Only slightly at the beginning. Teyssier comes into the scene with this issue on his mind, so he isn’t in a position of empathy towards either Ferdinand or Castelmont. But the competition remains the centerpiece of the story.

How is your collaboration with Simon Dartois, who plays your son?

It’s going really well. Simon is a talented actor and a great guy. What struck me was the positive atmosphere on set; everyone is very dedicated and serious. I’m probably the biggest joker, but overall, it’s a pleasure to work with them.

Had you known Benjamin before?

No, we have mutual friends, but I don’t think we had met before. He came to see a play I was in, but we didn’t know each other prior to filming. We get along well, which is crucial for a fast-paced project like this.

How do you handle the filming days?

It’s intense, lots of lines, lots of dialogue. I got up at six this morning and I could really feel the fatigue, especially after a weekend in Beaujolais.

Do you wish to become a recurring character?

I haven’t really thought about it. Simon is involved in this storyline, so it depends on him. But I do a lot of theater in Paris, which doesn’t leave much time for filming. Performing in two plays at the same time, plus filming, would be challenging.
